Lotus Stone

Lotus Stone is an emergent production company set up by Sarah Cosgrove, to create courageous, feminist theatre with roots based in physical / visual performance. 

 

Following the success of TODAY I BAKE, Lotus Stone has recently completed a new production, iRONS, in collaboration with multi-award winning Director Melanie Jordan.

In 2018 Sarah completed the Advanced Diploma in Physical Theatre based at Summerhall, Edinburgh, continuing her training in workshops with Company of Wolves; Sean Kinley; Steve Jarred; Peta Lily and Angela de Castro.

Recent work includes narrator for Dr Bunhead’s “Rubbish Puppet Show” at Edinburgh International Science Festival; performer with Oceanallover (Merchant City Festival, Glasgow); Oorographic and Complicite; “Everything That Rises Must Dance” celebrating female movement and the way women have danced throughout history.

After graduating from E15 Acting School, she was resident performer for contemporary gallery owner Nicholas Treadwell, pioneer of the SuperHumanist art movement, then performed in various productions on the London pub theatre circuit.

Her professional life includes assisting William Brittain-Catlin in the making of a discussion documentary on intelligence and espionage, for Mentorn Media; production at publishers Dorling Kindersley and modelling. 

 

Sarah was a freelance stylist for commercial and editorial photography, working on high end campaigns for clients to include Saatchi & Saatchi, Tatler, Getty Images, The Ritz Hotel & American Newsweek.
